ARTHAUS
Sometimes, even the best of views needs a bit of accessorizing – and that is just what MSD was tasked with when a couple sought to relocate from their home in Old City to the 37th floor of a luxury high-rise in the heart of Center City. Our involvement from the inception of the project ensured that the finishes and architectural lighting suited our final plans perfectly. First up? The opening of the floorplan, allowing the almost 1,300 square foot terrace to be visible from the main living space. Then came extensive custom furnishings and millwork, including warm grey cerused rift cut white oak wall paneling and bookcases. In the dining space, a built-in buffet in the same finish is coupled with wall cabinetry inset with textured glass to provide ample (and beautiful) space for storage. The pendant over the dining table serves double duty: both as lighting and as a reflective piece of sculpture; while a custom cabinet is lacquered in the same hue as the living space chairs. This color is seen accented throughout the space, including on the terrace furnishings.
